· Problem Statement
An operational assessment has been made by White Corp and the findings were:
· Unmeasured lead-time for products.
· Sudden machines break-downs.
· Variation in processes cycle times due to raw material variety.
All of theses founds and more caused their planning methodology to be incompetent which fluctuates their delivery dates and unsatisfied customers.
Objective:
· Accurate production and orders scheduling.
· Accurate delivery dates.
Methodology:
· Measuring lead time for different capacities that allow low deviation.
· Specifying machines settings for different weights and evaluate suppliers based on their material quality.
· Set machines preventive maintenance plan.
· Providing operators with needed training (highlighted instructions from machines manual).
· Setting reorder point ROP to avoid sudden material shortage which leads to high lead time.
· Provide production plan and orders scheduling.
· Scheduling raw material for orders.
